Well Check Up

Well Monday, September 29, Taylor had her one year old well visit. She has started to realize what the doctor is. As we walk in the door, she clenches to me tightly. She loosens up in the waiting room and clinical room but as soon as Dr. Cope walks in she starts crying. She screams through the entire exam. As soon as he leaves, she hushes. It's kind of funny because he doesn't even give her the shots, but she doesn't cry with those girls.

So since Taylor is finally 12 months, I thought I would highlight some of her accomplishments ...

1. She finally has hit the 20 lb mark... which means she can be forward facing in the car... though we haven't done yet. She has remained in the 25% percentile in weight and 75% in height since birth.

2. She has 10 teeth - including two molars working their way in. She can eat almost anything... and does.

3. She has started taking her first steps and CiCi bought her first pair of shoes. Taylor isn't thrilled about wearing them but the velcro distracts her.

4. She has a pretty good vocab and better yet will mock almost anything you say. Her new words include: balloon, bella, Adyson (didi) and taylor.

5. She is completely weaned off the bottle. Yea! We are so proud of this accomplishment. She had been down to one but was really holding on to her nightly bottle. But she has done great without it.

6. She is now only taking one nap a day. Again, has done great with this. We thank Lisa tremendously for taking this leap. Taylor sleeps like a log at night now.

7. Taylor is starting to feed herself with her own utensils. It's so cute to watch the learning process.

Hmmm... Well I was aiming for 12 milestones but I can't think of anymore......
